Joyce Jinn
Joyce Jinn’s recent series centers on children deeply engaged in exploring their everyday surroundings. Whether encountering a dead bird, a towering pillar, or a patch of sunlight, each moment is a quiet adventure shaped by curiosity and wonder. These scenes, rendered with sensitivity and attentiveness, invite us to witness the world through a child’s eyes – where every object holds mystery and every question begins with “Why?”
At the heart of the series is a meditation on curiosity. As adults, we often lose that impulse to pause, to marvel, to question without needing immediate answers. Joyce Jinn captures the fragile, fleeting magic of childhood observation – something both universal and deeply personal.
Although created with children in mind, the process of painting reawakened the artist’s own sense of discovery – to slow down, to look more closely, and perhaps to remember how it felt to be amazed.
