Kyenam, an emerging artist from Korea, enjoyed traveling through various countries in Latin America, including Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, and Peru, with a backpack on her shoulders. While walking along the roads, she would stop at places that moved her, capturing the landscape in sketches. This marked the beginning of her artistic journey.
Kyenam explores the harmony between nature and the inner self, capturing its flow and sensations on the canvas. The artist views the act of quietly observing the world as the beginning of inner exploration and spiritual growth, projecting this gaze onto the symbolic figure of the llama, representing a deep connection with nature. The llama serves as a mediator between nature and humanity, as well as a spiritual guide that quietly leads our inner selves.
With over a decade of experience as a designer, the artist’s unique sense of color and visual balance manifests in their work. By layering acrylic paints, they create meditative landscapes with a serene atmosphere. Through these landscapes, the artist hopes to offer viewers a chance to confront their own quiet inner spaces, where they can discover their own gentle resonance.
This also reflects the artist’s philosophy of life: to listen to nature and the heart, and to live a simple and free life.
