Lim Seung Hyun, trained in East Asian painting with over 30 years of artistic practice, creates warm and approachable works that foster emotional connection with viewers. Through minimal compositions and a gentle, fairy-tale-like style, he captures happy memories and everyday moments with empathy and comfort.
He has participated in numerous international art fairs, including the Affordable Art Fair in Hong Kong and Singapore, and his works are part of prestigious collections such as the Korean National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art (MMCA—the largest and most prestigious contemporary art museum in Korea) Art Bank, Korea Expressway Corporation, Nestlé Korea, and SM Entertainment, one of South Korea's leading entertainment companies, recognized for nurturing and promoting K-pop stars with vast international fanbases.
Lim’s paintings portray familiar scenes from daily life—peaceful family moments, car rides, street musicians, a woman watching spring petals fall, or a gardener tending plants—rendered with the charm of storybook illustrations. These small, familiar stories are captured through a gentle and affectionate perspective, evoking the warmth and reassurance of a heartwarming fairy tale. Reflecting on modern society’s rapid changes and growing emotional and material pressures, Lim’s art suggests the importance of a small “pause”—a moment to reflect, reconnect, and rediscover peace of mind.
