Kim Young-sung’s works are a series that confront the contemporary reality in which life is threatened and disappearing amid the intensification of material civilization. The artist stages moments in which life and objects coexist in a single frame—reminiscent of advertising photography or theatrical scenes—and captures them meticulously through hyperrealistic painting, revealing both the desolation of modern society and the futility of human existence.
