Pearl Kim: 벌름이는 콧구멍을 따라: A Sip of Autumn

 

"'가족'이라는 이름으로 묶여 있는 우리는 매일 저녁 각자 다른 목적을 가지고 다른 생각을 하며 같은 시간을 걷는다. 함께 걷는 이 길에서 차츰 누구부터 하나씩 멀어질 것을 안다. 그 순간을 굳이 미리 생각하기 싫어 내일도 우리의 엉킨 실 같은 행복한 산책 길을 마음껏 누릴 생각이다. 콧구멍을 벌름이며 고양이의 발자취를 찾는 [내 반려견] 올리와 무조건 앞으로 뛰어나가고 싶은 [내 딸] 이도, 얼른 겨울이 오면 좋겠다고 생각하는 나와 이도가 넘어질까봐 걱정하는 남편까지 넷이서."

 

유난히 더웠던 여름이 지나고 조용히 친구처럼 옆에 다가온 가을, E.N. Gallery에서 가을의 한잔을 김펄 작가의 위트있고 멋진 작품과 함께 느껴보시기 바랍니다.

When asked about the inspiration behind this exhibition, Pearl Kim shared the following insights:

 

"We, bound together by the word 'family', spend time every evening together, but with different purposes and thoughts. Gradually, on this path that we walk together, we understand that one by one, we will grow apart. We don't want to think about that just yet. We intend to fully enjoy our tangled, happy walking paths, much like the twisted threads of our tomorrow. From [my dog] Oile, who wrinkles his nose and seeks the cat's pawprints, to [my daughter] Ido who just wants to run forward, to me who cannot wait for winter to come, and to my husband, who worries that my daughter and I will trip…the four of us, together."
